COMMITTEE NEWS

First Thursdays is a collaborative downtown gallery effort to encourage people to walk from venue-to-venue each First Thursday from May through September to sample the arts, food and drinks from 5 pm to 9 pm. The successful May 3rd event was led by UnchARTed Gallery with a LIVE MUSIC theme. Other participating galleries featured solo musicians. On June 7, the Whistler House and ALL Galleries will lead a GARDEN PARTY theme. Please see the SAVE THE DATE section to see the plans for the July, August and September First Thursday themes. For more information and real time event updates visit: http://www.facebook.com/downtownlowellfirstthursdays/

Our Cooperative Gallery presents beautiful and affordable art hand made by our members. There are limited spaces available. Please contact Coop Chairperson, Margarida Correia, to put your name on the waiting list. artsleagueoflowellcoop@gmail.com

The Gallery Committee is busy finalizing the show/exhibit calendar for 2019. More details will be posted in the October newsletter. We are working to include an online entry process in some future shows, so it is important to pay attention to deadlines for entry. Upcoming shows, “Variations in Scale” and “Journeys”, a juried show, will present with this format. Please check website at website at s www.artsleagueoflowell.com/gallery/future to access available prospectuses for show and contact information.

Thanks to six contributing member artists, ALL now has beautiful art exhibited in the windows outside the Greenwald Gallery. Many thanks to Nancy Lessard Downing, Mary Hart, M.M.Moyer, Ed Porzio, Gayle Visentine Reynolds and Will Winslow. This will be a continuing project and the Board agrees that the art will be changed out periodically. Stay tuned. You could have an opportunity to showcase your art and help ALL show off the gallery at the same time.

Hospitality Committee Chairperson, Pat Caron, says that we always get comments that “ALL runs the best receptions!”. Our receptions would not be the “best” without support from participating show artists and the committee: Martha Mayo, Normand Caron, Bethany Tine and Gallery Committee members. We are always looking for volunteers to help at the receptions, from tasty food contributions or to help with set up and clean up. Please contact Pat at serenitymt@comcast.net or 508.633.3115.

As part of ALL’s Educational Program, member Jenn Wood will offer a fun and inventive workshop in the ALL classroom in Painting/Collage-Mixed Media on Sunday, June 24. Workshop description and schedule on website, www.artsleagueoflowell.com/education. Please contact Jenn at jaeart1@gmail.com for any questions and to register.

Claire Gagnon will offer a class, Initiation to Painting, at ALL on Saturday, August 25 and Saturday, September 25. More detail and registration on website, www.artsleagueoflowell.com/education.

The gallery is available for Event Rental. Please contact Steve Syverson for information.
